Thank you for choosing Night Rider (“we”, “us”, or “our”). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (“Night Rider” or the “App”).

1. Information We Collect

a. Device Information

  • We collect a unique device identifier to link your tasks and results to your device.
  • No other personal information (such as name, email, or phone number) is collected.

b. Usage Data

  • We collect information about how you use the App, such as features accessed, time spent, and error reports.

c. Audio Data

  • When you submit a task, the content of your request and the resulting audio output are processed and stored.

d. Gmail Data (Optional)

  • If you choose to connect your Gmail account, we retrieve email message metadata and content in read-only mode for the sole purpose of generating AI-powered summaries for you.
  • We access your Gmail data using the following Google OAuth scopes: gmail.readonly, userinfo.profile, userinfo.email.
  • We do not store the full contents of your emails. Only the generated summaries and minimal identifying metadata (e.g., message ID) are cached to provide the service.

Google Limited Use Compliance

Night Rider’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, we affirm that:

  • We use Google user data only to deliver or improve features that are clearly visible and beneficial to you within the Night Rider app.
  • We never sell or transfer Google user data to third parties, including advertisers, data brokers, or information resellers.
  • We never use Google user data for advertising of any kind, including retargeting, personalized, or interest-based ads.
  • We do not use Google user data to determine credit-worthiness or for any lending purposes.
  • Human access to Google user data is permitted only when required for security investigations, legal compliance, or when you give explicit consent.
  • We do not use Google user data to train, create, or improve generalized machine-learning or AI models.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Process your requests and generate audio results.
  • Improve and personalize your experience.
  • Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve the App.
  • Manage subscriptions and payments.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide and improve Night Rider:

  • Deepgram: Speech-to-text conversion.
  • ElevenLabs: Text-to-speech conversion.
  • Google Gmail API: Optional email integration (read-only) used to fetch email content so the AI agent can generate summaries for you.
  • Langfuse: LLM tracing and evaluation.
  • OpenAI & Perplexity: Large Language Model (LLM) processing.
  • Posthog: Analytics and feature flag management.
  • RevenueCat: Subscription and paywall management.
  • Supabase: Data storage (linked only by device ID).
  • Upstash: Background task processing.

These services may process your data as necessary to provide their functionality. We recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies for more information.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • All data is stored securely in Supabase and is only linked to your device ID.
  • We do not collect or store personal identifiers such as your name, email, or contact information.
  • We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

  • We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
  • Data may be shared with third-party service providers listed above solely for the purposes described in this policy.
  • We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

6. Analytics

We use Posthog to collect analytics data to help us understand how the App is used and to improve its features. All analytics are linked only to your device ID and do not include personal identifiers.

7. Your Rights and Choices

  • You may request deletion of your data linked to your device ID by contacting us at hello@nightrider.app

8. Children's Privacy

Night Rider is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
